CDL Details

 

An A0 drawing scanned at 300dpi (dots per inch),
in TIF (tagged information format), is approx. 250kb,
about 6 images to one floppy disk.

Using CD's with a capacity of 650Mb (over 450 floppies),
Scanning hard copy documents / drawings
is a very cost effective method to resolve many areas:

Many companies do not keep a full set of copies
of their original drawings, therefore,
if an accident happens
i.e. a fire or the sprinklers are accidentally activated,
many thousands of £'s could be lost.

Two sets of disks are always supplied after scanning.

Every time a drawing is removed,
further damage cannot be avoided and worst still,
the drawing could be lost.

Once a drawing is scanned and written to CD,
it can not be misplaced.
The CD has a life of well over 50 years.

A large number of drawing offices who still
use manual hard copy drawings,
produce amendments by using copies of previous drawing.
The image quality worsens each time this process is used,
to a point that parts of the drawing became unreadable
and the original scale of the drawing is lost.

A scan is made up of pixels measuring across and down the screen,
this file can be write protected,.
copied and pasted,
time and time again without any loss in quality.

Freeing current storage area of hard copy drawings for alternative use or office expansion.

Scanning is the obvious solution.
